Issue -
In Inventor 2012 ipn, changing visibility off/on will not change the visibility in the UI.
Workaround -
This is a known issue and our development team is planning for a fix.
As a workaround, you could turn off Marking Menu to get back the functionality
View -> User Interface -> uncheck Marking Menu
or
Tools -> Customize -> Marking Menu -> check “Use Classic Context Menu
