Change the Ground Plane orientation in your template

When you start a new assembly or part file, selecting your template and enable the Ground Plane visibility, this is oriented parallel to the XZ work plane.

If you want to change the default orientation and set it parallel, for instance, to the XY work plane and saving the new setting in your template, you can do the following.

• In the top right corner of the graphic window, click on View Face.

• In the browser select the XY work plane under the Origin folder.

• Right-click on the ViewCube > Set Current View as > Top.

• The Ground Plane will be oriented parallel to the XY work plane.

• Save the file as Template and replace your template with the modified file.

Next time you start a new file selecting this template and enable the Ground Plane visibility, the orientation will be parallel to the XY work plane.
