You have created the view of your assembly.
Then you show the hidden lines for all or some components and select to display the Interference Edges as well.
After that, you notice that unexpected lines occurred in the view.
The lines that show up are Hidden Interference Edges.
If you don’t want to see those lines, in the Style Editor, create a new layer and turn it off.
Then, in the Object Defaults, map the Hidden interference to that layer.

just wondering when Section lines are going to get their own Object layer? They are selectable using the Feature filter, but i don't want to have to go through and select each sectioned loop on a view just to put it onto a custom layer. It should be done automatically by Inventor.

Not sure I've understood this correctly and if it is related to this post.
By default the Section lines are mapped on the Section Line layer in the Object Defaults list.
Do you want switch off the Section Line layer for disabling the Section lines visibility?
If yes, why you need to move the Section lines manually on a custom layer?
Thanks and regards,
Ale
